Music Tour 2026

This years Music Tour headed to sunny Spain! Soaking up sun and spanish culture with fabulous concerts put on for the public. 

Day 1 | Friday 3^rd July

Our musicians touched down in Spain and were greeted by glowing scenery before travelling to a beautiful restaurant in Granada. It was the perfect introduction to the week ahead, giving everyone a chance to sample the local cuisine and soak up the atmosphere.

Day 2 | Saturday 4^th July

The day began with a relaxing morning with some enjoying the pool, others unwinding poolside, before heading into rehearsal for their first concert.

In the afternoon, under cooler sunshine, the group explored the Albaicín neighbourhood on a guided tour, taking in its stunning architecture and winding historic streets.

The evening brought a real highlight: a Flamenco dance workshop where students and staff threw bold new shapes, learned about the art form’s rich cultural roots and embraced the energy of Spanish tradition. During dinner, they watched a professional Flamenco performance that showed everyone how it’s truly done. A night to remember.

Day 3 | Sunday 5^th July

Today’s adventure took the group to the Science Park, packed with fascinating exhibits and plenty of photo‑worthy moments. The evening marked the first concert of the tour at Plaza Balcón de Europa, where a wonderful crowd gathered. The energy was electric, and the music soared, a fantastic start to the performance schedule.

Day 4 | Monday 6^th July

Monday brought the chance to explore the wonders of the Alhambra, its breathtaking palaces and simply stunning gardens glowing in the summer heat. Students wandered through the Spanish Renaissance and Islamic architecture, appreciating the intricate detail and history in the beautiful weather on their final day in Granada.

From there, the group travelled to Almuñécar for dinner and rehearsals before the evening’s concert. The performance took place in the Auditorio Parque El Majuelo, set within the Botanical Park; a magical backdrop that welcomed a fresh audience to share their music with.

Day 5 | Tuesday 7^th July

Hotel change today, travelling to the stunning coastal town of Almunecar with plenty of beach and coast scenery with dancing reflections on the water. The evening’s concert was placed at the hotel, giving our soloists a chance to shine for guests in an informal performance.

Day 6 | Wednesday 8^th July

Wednesday saw the group venture to see the beautiful sights of Seville, having the option to tour the Royal Alcazar of Seville or experience a leisurely river cruise of the city.

After taking in the sights they headed to Claustros de Santo Domingo for their evening performances. Sheltered in the shade of it’s gorgeous courtyard, a large audience enjoyed hearing our soloists, senior choir, ensembles, and orchestra paly throughout the evening.

Day 7 | Thursday 9^th July

This was the groups last performance of the tour! After a leisurely morning spent at the hotel, they all hopped on the coach to the beautiful coastal city of Cádiz. They spent the afternoon taking in the rich history of the port, as Cádiz is considered one of Western Europe’s most ancient cities that is still standing.

Then came the preparation and set up in the evenings venue of Plaza de España, with a stage that allowed our students to end the tour off with a bang as well as a dance for the audience!

Day 8 | Friday 10^th July

Today was the final day of what has been an amazing music tour for our group. They travelled to Gibraltar to explore the sights as well as join a Dolphin Watching boat tour. This was of course a big highlight for everyone as the Dolphins were an arm’s length away to watch as they swam through the shimmering sea.

Once they’d docked it was off to Malaga airport as their final stop in Spain, departing in the evening before safely landing back at London Heathrow airport. It’s been such a wonderful experience for our students, having the opportunity to explore and travel all over Spain whilst performing for a variety of audiences. Music is so important at Leighton Park and our annual tours are a great way to celebrate another great year of music!
